The theme for this year's award ceremony was "always in fashion" and what better way to celebrate excellence in greeting card design than with a fashion show. 13 outfits made from - what else, greeting cards! were featured in a special runway event as the opening program for the awards. Clearly the show stopper was a spectacular period outfit made from more than 1500 greeting cards. Modeled by company president Alan Friedman - Louis XIV, the sun king, was designed and constructed by Donna Massimo and Alice Sarach with a team of helpers. It took more than 150 hours to make. Early risers on Tuesday May 17th caught Alan in costume on national TV - interviewed by Tony Perkins on Good Morning America. The outfit spent the show in our booth and stopped traffic all week long - it is totally amazing! You can check it out by clicking here.
